General information about starting your studies

Before the start of the course, most departments offer introductory courses, for some subjects (e.g. mathematics) there are also pre-courses. Most of the events are listed in the electronic annotated course catalog (eKVV) under Introductory and Orientation Courses". Supplementary information on introductory events and preliminary courses

As a rule, it is sufficient to draw up the timetable for your first semester after attending the introductory events. In most introductory events, you will learn what is important to consider for your Version of degree programme variants, and what subject-specific peculiarities there may be with regard to the allocation of places. However, you are also welcome to familiarize yourself with the electronic course catalogue (eKVV) and study information systems, which you will need to create your timetable, before attending the introductory events.

The BIE provides further information on creating a timetable with regard to educational sciences studies. In addition, the Faculty of Educational Science has created an explanatory video, which refers to the introductory seminars in Educational Sciences, but can be generalized perfectly for the creation of your timetable. The video can be found in the learning room of the "Erstitag" Educational Sciences course, which usually takes place in March/ September.
